How to Import a Template Kit

Importing a template kit into Elementor is a straightforward process that allows you to add pre-designed pages, sections, and global styles to your website. Follow these steps to import a template kit successfully:

1. Ensure Prerequisites

  • Elementor Installed: Make sure Elementor is installed and activated on your WordPress site. Elementor Pro is required for some advanced template kits.
  • Template Kit Ready: Ensure you have a valid .zip file for the template kit you want to import.

2. Navigate to Kit Library

  • In your WordPress dashboard, go to: Templates > Kit Library.
  • Click the Import Kit button at the top of the Kit Library page.

3. Upload the Template Kit

  • In the pop-up window, click Select File or drag and drop the .zip file of your template kit into the upload area.
  • Wait for Elementor to upload and analyze the kit.

4. Review the Import Options

  • Elementor will display a summary of the kit, including its components:
    • Pages
    • Sections
    • Global styles (fonts, colors)
    • Header, footer, and other site-wide templates
  • Review the items and select which ones you want to import (or choose all).

5. Run the Import Process

  • Click Next or Start Import to begin.
  • Elementor will process the kit and add the templates, global settings, and assets to your website.

6. Use the Imported Templates

  • To use the imported templates:
    • Go to Templates > Saved Templates to view all imported templates.
    • Use the Edit with Elementor option to customize them as needed.
  • You can also insert the templates directly into pages or posts:
    • Open a page in Elementor.
    • Click the Folder Icon in the widget panel to access your saved templates.

7. Preview and Publish

  • Preview the imported templates and adjust them to fit your needs.
  • Once satisfied, publish your pages or save them as drafts.

Tips for Importing Template Kits

  1. Backup Your Site: Always back up your site before importing a template kit, especially if you’re replacing existing designs.
